Keeper of memories

Some places survive because someone still walks through them.

A place can hold history, but someone has to keep that history alive.

This photograph captures a tour guide walking through the ruins of an ancient city in Morocco. His red head covering and blue clothing stand against the muted stone, while the ruins occupy the opposite side of the frame.

The composition places him along the rule of thirds, with the lines of the ruins naturally leading the eye towards his path. It almost feels as though we are walking alongside him.

He is more than a person in the landscape. He is a keeper of memory, carrying stories from one generation to another.

FUN FACT
The location was used as a filming location for Game of Thrones, including scenes associated with Daenerys Targaryen's story, as well as scenes from Gladiator & The mummy.
