The living bridge

In a landscape with no visible road and no obvious route forward, the camel becomes the bridge.

Photographed in Morocco at sunset, this image uses the shadows of the camels moving across the dunes to create a second layer within the landscape. The animals become almost abstract, their forms stretching across the sand as the setting sun transforms the desert.

The photograph continues the idea explored in Borrowed Steps: that our means of passage can sometimes come from places we least expect.

Even when the landscape offers no obvious way across, life finds one.

FUN FACT
The image was created primarily through the relationship between the camels' shadows, the dunes and the setting sun. Also, i was badly bruised from my bad saddle.
